Mill lake 12 acres and over 300 years old and has a delightful unique character and beauty all of its own,it is many of our regular anglers favourite lake. Seven wooden decked swims and a maximum of 7 anglers ensure plenty of water for everyone.
It is the closest lake to the main facilities. It currently holds many large beautiful carp (around 275) to 58lb a large head of 30/40lbs carp a few heavily plated mirrors and some really beautiful perfect liner’s. A special resident in this lake is “Mervin” the sturgeon who weighs in around the 120lbs mark, keeping him company are catfish to 140lbs.
The lake water is fairly coloured most of the time, the margins are firm for around 2 to 3 rod lengths then changes to silt. The silt is nice fresh earthy smelling and holds plenty of bloodworm and other natural invertebrates. Rig wise any colour works (rigs are all the same colour when its dark) we normally use black rig tube (available on site).
